Biomass Energy Plants

Our company operates with a focus on sustainable energy production and environmental value creation, possessing a strong and balanced business model based on multiple production sources. Our productivity structure is built upon energy generation, the utilization of by-products, and carbon credit revenues.

Karadeniz Garanti Biomass Energy is a renewable biomass-based power plant established to sell its generated electricity at incentive prices under the YEKDEM (Renewable Energy Resources Support Mechanism) framework. Its primary fuel is biomass-based SYNGAS. Electricity is generated by combusting SYNGAS. All types of biomass resulting from forestry and agricultural activities are converted into BIOCHAR using reactors in an oxygen-free environment.

The facility's raw material processing capacity is approximately 12 tons per hour (12t/h), with a total annual capacity of 90,000 tons. The annual saleable Biochar production derived from this process is 17,833 kg/year. The production capacity for tar, which emerges during the process, is 19,656 kg/month.

Thanks to our eco-friendly production model, carbon reduction is achieved—with a gross capacity of 2,180 t/month and a net capacity of 1,526 t/month—contributing significantly to nature.

Production consists of two stages. The first stage is the BIOCHAR production facility, which includes Fuel Preparation, Pyrolysis Reactors, Gas Cleaning Units, and auxiliary equipment. The second stage is the Power Plant facility, primarily consisting of Fuel Preparation, Steam Boilers, Steam Turbines, and their auxiliary units.

The plant has an installed electrical capacity of eight megawatts (8 MW), with an annual net electricity generation of approximately 60,000 MWh/year

Our Mission

The vision of Karadeniz Garanti Biomass Energy is to renew and develop its facilities and systems by following the most advanced technologies while remaining environmentally friendly.

Strategy

To achieve its mission, Karadeniz Garanti Biomass Energy builds biomass-fired power plants with high added value and optimum investment costs, operating them as waste disposal facilities.
